To celebrate vanagon.com's one-year anniversary, we asked folks to write us a story featuring a VW bus. The story could be fictional, non-fiction, or somewhere in between. Winners were awarded prizes donated by a large number of corporate sponsors.We received 50 stories. A couple were disqualified for being too long, while a few others had nothing to do with VW busses at all. The remaining 44 stories were sent to the panel of five judges. Each judge rated the story on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0. The results from each judge were then averaged, and the stories were ranked based on the average score.
Only one judge gave out a perfect 10.0 score, and that was to the story Maintenance, our Grand Prize winner.
