Only use coolant that is phosphate-free. Using coolant with phosphates will result in head corrosion.
Do not set the trip meter if the vehicle is moving. Only do so while the vehicle is still, or you will have a US$300 repair on your hands. (Resetting the trip odometer while the vehicle is moving may result in the gear breaking. This is a common problem with late-model VWs.)
