Where in the World Are We?

Well, we intended to leave Joao Pessao yesterday afternoon but when we got back to camp, our new friend, Vitor, suggested that Shay go snorkeling with him in the coral reef which comes right up to shore 5 minutes from our campsite. Hmmm. Another day of driving or another day in Paradise? Paradise won. And we're staying one more day as well. Today the plan is to hire a jangada, one of the very picturesque Brazilan fishing boats, to take us to a larger reef 3 km offshore. Tyler and I will paddle around while Vitor and Shay do some more snorkeling. We're reaallly not in any hurry to leave here. I'm hoping that this afternoon we may have time to visit the old Portuguese fort near here but I think snorkel time comes first!
