Steve's Syncro Party |
On October 30th, 1999, Steve Schwenk invited folks over to his house in San Francisco to talk syncros. We also ate amazing amounts of delicious grilled german sausage, veggie chorizo, and salmon. Here are some pictures from the event.
All together, there were 7 syncros - the neighbors were wondering what was going on...
Busses belong to (left to right) Warren Chapman, Peter & Sylvia Buettner, Gary Edwards (from Indianapolis), Coyote, Mark Drillock (from down near San Diego), Steve Schwenk, and Jeanne Maly.

After a nice lunch, we drove over to a well-rutted sod lot to give the syncros a try. Steve Schwenk set the pace at about 30mph and gave folks demos of his custom Bilstein shocks.

Jeanne gave her syncro its first real workout (as did Coyote). Here she's pulling a wheelie.
Here's Steve and Jeanne mowing the lawn, syncro-style.
The Bilsteins rode a lot nicer over these bumps than the stock Boges. (That's Warren Chapman in the passenger seat, looking concerned.)
