QuickTime Plugin Required

All of the videos on vanagon.com require that you have the QuickTime Plugin in your browser on your Windows-based PC or MacOS-based Apple computers, using either Netscape, Internet Explorer or AOL browsers. We do not currently support UNIX-based PCs or workstations.

The QuickTime Plugin for both the PC and Mac is available free at the QuickTime download sitethis link leaves vanagon.com. Just fill out the form at the bottom of that page, and the QuickTime download will begin.

If you have QuickTime 3, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to QuickTime 4. Not all of our content is watchable with the QuickTime 3 plugin (you may see the video, but no audio).

If you're still having problems, you might get more help from Applethis link leaves vanagon.com.

I installed QuickTime 4, but I still can't see the video!

Check for the existence of the QuickTime Plugin files. Sometimes the QuickTime Installer doesn't put these in the right place. This may also happen if you see that we tell you that QuickTime is installed properly, but you still can't see the video.

Look for these files on your hard drive (specifically in your browsers plugin directory):

Windows OS npqtplugin.dll
npqtplugin2.dll
npqtplugin3.dll
Mac OS QuickTimePlugin

PC Users Note: Make sure you choose the options to show all files -- otherwise you might not find these files!

Common plugin locations

(Click on Links to browse your hard drive):

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\plugins\
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins\

If they aren't in your browsers plugin directory, you can most likely find them in your QuickTime/Plugins directory. Just copy them from there into your browsers Plugin Directory. (Click link to browse your hard drive)
